Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

GoToolsOnline (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://gotoolsonline.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website, and how we comply with applicable privacy laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

1. No Account Required

GoToolsOnline does not require you to create an account or log in. We do not collect your email, name, or other personal information unless you voluntarily contact us.

2. What We Process (Your Files & Input)

GoToolsOnline offers 163+ separate tools. How your data is handled depends on the tool:

  • Browser-only tools: Some utilities run entirely in your web browser (for example, many text calculators, timers, and formatters). Your input may never leave your device.
  • Server-side processing: For tools that upload files or need heavy processing (PDF, images, video, audio, OCR, etc.), your file or input is sent to our servers, processed for that request, then discarded. We do not use your uploads to train models and we do not keep a personal library of your files.
  • Temporary storage: A few flows (such as multi-step editors) may keep data only for the duration of your session, in isolated storage, and it is deleted afterward. We do not sell file contents.
  • Third-party APIs: A small number of tools forward text or data to external services to complete the task (for example, machine translation). Those providers process the data under their own terms; we do not store that content on our side after the result is returned. Such tools are labeled on the site.

We do not save, retain, or sell your uploaded images, PDFs, or text for unrelated purposes. If you contact us by email, we use that correspondence only to respond to you.

3. Google AdSense and Third-Party Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. Google AdSense and other third-party ad vendors may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other sites on the internet.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to our site or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites.
  • Ad vendors may collect information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed to deliver ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.

Opting out of personalized advertising: You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ad Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads). You can also opt out of third-party cookies by visiting the NAI opt-out page or Your Ad Choices (US), or Your Online Choices (EU). We display a cookie consent banner when you first visit; you can accept or decline non-essential cookies.

For more information on how Google uses data in advertising, see How Google uses cookies in advertising and Google’s Privacy Policy.

4. Cookie Consent & Google Consent Mode v2

We use Google Consent Mode v2 to ensure transparency and user control over how data is used for advertising and analytics. When you first visit our site:

  • A cookie consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the page, asking you to accept or reject non-essential cookies.
  • By default, all ad storage, ad personalization, and analytics storage are denied until you make a choice.
  • If you click "Accept All," we update consent to allow ad and analytics cookies. If you click "Reject Non-Essential," these remain denied and only essential site functionality is used.
  • Your consent choice is stored in your browser (localStorage) and remembered on future visits. You can reset your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or cookies.

We work with ad partners, including Google, that respect consent signals sent via Google Consent Mode v2. For more information, see Google Consent Mode.

5. Data Collection via Log Files

Our servers automatically collect information in log files when you access our website. This may include:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referring URL (the page you came from)
  • Pages visited and timestamps
  • Device type (e.g., desktop, mobile)

We use this data for security, troubleshooting, and improving our service. Logs are retained for a limited period and are not used for personalized advertising by us. Our ad partners may separately collect similar technical data as described in Section 3.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies (e.g., to remember your cookie consent) and, with your consent, Google AdSense and analytics cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. See How Google uses cookies for details.

7. GDPR Compliance (European Union / EEA)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data in accordance with the GDPR. We rely on the following bases: (a) legitimate interests (e.g., security, analytics, serving ads to support the service); (b) consent where we ask for it (e.g., non-essential cookies and personalized ads under TCF v2.3). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, use the Contact Us section below.

8. CCPA and CPRA Compliance (California)

If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to limit use of sensitive personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. We may “share” information with ad partners (e.g., for personalized advertising) as defined under CCPA/CPRA; you can opt out of personalized ads via Google Ad Settings and our cookie banner. To submit a request to know, delete, or correct your data, contact us using the Contact Us section below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

9. Data We Do Not Sell

We do not sell your personal data. Files you upload are never shared with third parties. We share data only with service providers (e.g., Google) necessary to operate the site, under their respective privacy policies.
